Ahead of his championship opportunity this weekend, “The Aesthetic Crippler” Kevin Blackwood is making some very specific and non-negotiable demands of Prestige Wrestling. Representing his vegan and straight-edge lifestyle, Blackwood‘s “legal team” issued a formal letter to the Portland-based promotion, insisting that the venue be completely free of all meat and alcohol for the duration of the event.
The official statement, posted on October 1st, lays out his terms in no uncertain language:
To whom it may concern,
This letter serves as an official request and declaration from Kevin Blackwood regarding the upcoming Prestige Wrestling event scheduled to take place at the Roseland Theater this Sunday night in Portland, Oregon.
As a practicing vegan and adherent to the straight edge lifestyle, Mr. Blackwood demands that no alcohol or meat products be present, served, or made available within the premises of the venue during the duration of the event.
This request is made on personal ethical and lifestyle grounds and is integral to Mr. Blackwood’s values and public representation. Compliance with this request is not negotiable to ensure alignment with the principles he upholds and the atmosphere he wishes to maintain for himself and the attending audience.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Kevin Blackwood’s Legal Team

Leaning Into the Character
This move is almost certainly an excellent piece of character work, with Blackwood playing his antagonist role to perfection simply to generate heat from the fans. He doubled down on his abrasive stance in response to fan comments, adding: “You braindead morons in the comments about “bringing meat and whiskey” are saying all the same dumb shit I’ve heard since I was 17 years old. “Smoke a joint bro you’re so angry” go play in traffic while I make your favorite company a better place for all living things.”
Taking a Page From Morrissey’s Playbook
This strategy is clearly inspired by the legendary and often controversial musician Morrissey, who is also a staunch vegan. Morrissey has a long history of demanding that venues he performs at do not sell or serve any meat products. He has been known to walk off stage or stop shows entirely if he smells meat being cooked or served nearby, creating a similar atmosphere of strict adherence to his personal principles.
Kevin Blackwood is scheduled to challenge Judas Icarus for the Prestige World Championship this Sunday, October 5th, at the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon. Whether the venue will comply with his demands remains to be seen.
