Brie Bella‘s comeback year has a co-star who never sets foot in the ring: her husband, Bryan Danielson.
Bella returned to WWE at the Women’s Royal Rumble in January and has been on a tear since, capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Paige at WrestleMania 42. Speaking on The Sal Licata Show, she made clear none of it happens without Danielson holding things down at home.
“You’re Like Pinterest Dad”
Bella said the comeback started with a direct conversation with Danielson about what her schedule would demand of him. “Because he retired from in-ring, it gave me the opportunity to come back. And when I started to realize his schedule, I was like, ‘I really want to make a comeback. I want you to be my coach. I really want to train hard, it’s going to be a lot of work, but will you be able to deal with the schedule?’ He was like, ‘Yes, 100%.'”
What that’s looked like in practice, by her telling, is Danielson running the household solo while she’s on the road. “He’s been picking up all those times when it was just the kids and I, you know? It’s funny because I’m like, you’re like Pinterest dad. He’s crushing it. The homemade meals, the fun snacks, the arts and crafts. He’s doing a great job. But honestly, I couldn’t do it without his support, because he allows me to come out here and do what I love.”
Where Danielson Stands With AEW
Danielson ended his full-time wrestling career in October 2024 with a loss to Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship, and between the home front and nagging injuries from his career, he’s stayed mostly off AEW television since. His last on-screen appearance came in April, calling commentary for AEW Dynamite: Spring Breakthru in his home state of Washington.
For now, the division of labor is working. Bella gets to chase championships. Danielson gets the arts-and-crafts table. Everybody wins.
