On the Thanksgiving special edition of TNA Impact, the company took a break from the hard-hitting action to deliver a moment of pure entertainment and nostalgia. Joe Hendry, currently one of the most viral acts in professional wrestling, teamed up with the legendary Jeff Hardy for a special in-ring concert.

While the segment featured their own entrance themes, the talk of the internet is their surprise cover of a song that defined a generation of wrestling video packages: Creed‘s “My Sacrifice.”

The Prestigious One Meets The Charismatic Enigma

The segment opened with Joe Hendry commanding the crowd in the “I Believe” wave, proving once again that he has the audience in the palm of his hand. But this wasn’t just a solo act. Hendry introduced Jeff Hardy, not just as a collaborator, but as a mentor.

Before the music fully kicked in, Hendry cut the comedy to deliver a heartfelt message about The Hardys. He praised Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy for being “literal living legends” who still give 100% every night. Hendry highlighted their generosity, noting that they stay until 3 or 4 in the morning to meet every fan and work hard to elevate up-and-coming talent like himself and Leon Slater.

A Duet of “Modest”

To kick off the musical portion, Hendry announced they would play a track for the “modest” Jeff Hardy. The duo performed Hardy’s longtime entrance theme, “Modest.” It was a surreal visual seeing the clean-cut Hendry rocking out alongside the face-painted Enigma, trading lyrics on the track that Jeff Hardy wrote and performed himself years ago.

The crowd in the Impact Zone was fully invested, clapping along as Hendry and Hardy harmonized on the chorus, “Modest to the top.”

The “My Sacrifice” Nostalgia Trip

The highlight of the night came when Joe Hendry grabbed the mic and teased a “wrestling song that everyone knows.” He asked the crowd to sing along to celebrate professional wrestling, and as soon as the opening chords hit, the room exploded.

They launched into Creed‘s “My Sacrifice.” For younger fans, this might just be a rock song, but for longtime WWE fans, this track is sacred. It was the backdrop for the iconic “Desire” tribute videos produced by the WWF/WWE in the late 90s and early 2000s, videos that often featured Jeff Hardy in his prime.

Hearing Jeff Hardy sing the song that arguably soundtracked the peak of his initial rise to stardom was a massive nostalgia pop. The fans in the arena sang every word of the chorus, creating a genuine, feel-good Thanksgiving moment.

The Party Crashers

Of course, in professional wrestling, a concert rarely ends without an interruption. Just as the vibes were at an all-time high, the music was cut. Ryan Nemeth interrupted the celebration, declaring “We come in peace” before launching into a parody of “Escape (The Piña Colada Song)” mockingly dedicated to his brother.

While the interruption set up future conflict, the takeaway from the night was the image of Joe Hendry and Jeff Hardy bridging the gap between generations with a song that still holds a special place in wrestling history.
