Oooohhh yeah! A biopic about the legendary “Macho Man” Randy Savage is officially in the works. Deadline reported that Kenan Thompson, of Saturday Night Live fame, is set to produce the film through his production company, Artists for Artists.

The film, simply titled Macho, aims to tell the story of one of professional wrestling’s most iconic and charismatic figures.

A ‘Macho’ Production Team

Kenan Thompson and his partner Johnny Ryan Jr. are spearheading the project. The duo are lifelong fans of Savage, with Thompson even having worked with the legend on a Nickelodeon promo back in 1999. The script for the film has a deeply personal connection, as it was co-written by Savage’s late brother, Lanny Poffo (who passed away in February 2023), and Eric Shapiro.

Joining Thompson and Ryan Jr. as producers is Paul Coy Allen of Midas Entertainment Group. The executive producer team includes Jonathon Davino, Cory Litwin, Boris Shvarts, and Monica Weber.
