The most dominant athlete in the Lesnar family might not be the one who spent two decades suplexing people on pay-per-view. Mya Lesnar, a two-time NCAA shot put champion and Olympian, is training for the 2028 Games, and her family just had a weekend worth celebrating.
A Champion in Her Own Right
Mya, 24, has built a standout track-and-field career at Colorado State, winning the NCAA outdoor shot put title (to go with an earlier indoor crown) and delivering the Rams their first outdoor national championship in two decades. She’s also already an Olympian, finishing sixth in the shot put at the 2024 Paris Games, and her personal best of 19.60 meters would have been good enough for a medal there.
Now her sights are set on the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. As her father put it after announcing his own wrestling retirement, “My daughter, she’s got her eye on 2028 Olympics.” She’s training to earn a spot with Team USA on home soil.
Dad’s Hall of Fame Weekend
The spotlight on Mya came the same week Brock Lesnar was inducted into the University of Minnesota’s M Club Hall of Fame on October 3, an honor for the amateur-wrestling career most casual fans forget he had. Before WWE and the UFC, Lesnar won a junior-college national title at Bismarck State in 1998, finished NCAA runner-up in 1999, and captured the Division I heavyweight championship in 2000.
He attended the ceremony with family, including wife Rena (the former WWE star Sable), and alongside his old Minnesota teammate Shelton Benjamin, whose own daughter is a national champion as well. Per the Wrestling Observer, Brock and Mya are one of only two father-daughter pairs to each win Division I individual national championships in any sport, a genuinely rare piece of family history.
From the Octagon to the Olympic Runway
It’s a fun turn for one of the most physically imposing names in combat-sports history: the Lesnar athletic legacy carrying forward not in a cage or a wrestling ring, but in a throwing circle. If Mya hits her mark over the next three years, the biggest Lesnar moment of 2028 could come with a Team USA singlet on.
