Diamond Dallas Page believes Scott Hall would still be alive today if it wasn’t for COVID. Though he was able to help Hall get sober for a period of time, DDP says the isolation from the pandemic lockdowns was too much for Hall.
Scott Hall was famously featured in the 2015 documentary The Resurrection of Jake the Snake. Both Hall and Jake Roberts joined DDP‘s wellness program to get clean from alcohol, with the WWE legends attaining some form of success in their sobriety.
“I was gonna call it The Resurrection of Jake the Snake and Scott Hall,” DDP told Mulligan Brothers Interviews. “Scott was like, ‘No Dally, that’s Jake‘s thing. You do you’re thing, I’m not saying I’m never gonna drink again. You’ve helped me where I’m at right now. I don’t want to drink right now, but I’m not saying I won’t want to.’”
“Scott… that’s why he died early,” DDP continued. “He would still be up and still going, but COVID… you trap an addict in a room that’s not this big, it’s dark, it’s not a good spot. I tried to get him to leave there. He made great money, but he was a friggin miser. He didn’t want to spend it. His kids ended up getting it. They were happy he left them some money. They’d rather have their dad though.”

Hall unfortunately relapsed during the pandemic, falling in his home and breaking his hip in 2022. After getting hip replacement surgery, a blood clot dislodged and caused Hall to suffer three heart attacks, which proved fatal.
