WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is stepping back into the acting world with the release of the trailer for the new vampire cop thriller, Night Patrol. The film is a horror and action blend directed by Ryan Prows.
The Premise of Night Patrol
The film’s plot centers on an LAPD officer, played by Jermaine Fowler, who must set aside his ongoing issues with the area’s street gangs. His hand is forced when he uncovers a horrific secret being harbored by a local police task force, a secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects where he grew up.
The task force, known as the Night Patrol, is actually a crew of vampire police officers. Justin Long co-stars as the officer’s partner, a “legacy recruit” into the Night Patrol. CM Punk‘s role is that of the sergeant’s “brutal right-hand man”. The trailer suggests that Punk appears to be the leader of this group, engaged in “ripping throats, shooting bullets, and leaving no trace”.
Key Cast and Creative Team
In addition to CM Punk, Justin Long, and Jermaine Fowler, the ensemble cast includes RJ Cyler, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Flying Lotus, Dermot Mulroney, Jon Oswald, and Nicki Micheaux. Dermot Mulroney plays the father of Justin Long‘s character, who is a sergeant with many secrets.
Night Patrol is directed by Ryan Prows and co-written by Prows, Shaye Ogbonna, Tim Cairo, and Jake Gibson. This writing team also collaborated on Prows‘ crime thriller Lowlife.
The movie debuted its first screenings at this year’s *Fantastic Fest* and *Beyond Fest*.
Release Details
The film, distributed by RLJE Films and Shudder, is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 16, 2026. Following its run in theaters, Night Patrol will be available for streaming exclusively on the Shudder platform.
