Being an AEW Superstar comes with its perks… like getting to play a round of golf with musicians like 50 Cent. Swerve Strickland got to experience that incredibly surreal moment earlier this year, but in a new interview, he spoke about what it’s really like to exist in that rare circle.

Strickland attended the ‘Reggie Jackson Mr. October Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic’ back in January. While talking with Big Gold Belt Media, he spoke about hanging out with 50 Cent.

“I was Bun B‘s guest,” Strickland recalled. “The first person I see when I roll up is 50 Cent. I meet him and then I run into Bun and we get into his golf cart. I was like, ‘Hey man, do you actually play and swing on the clubs?’ [Bun] was like, ‘Nah, I just run around and get high. I just like to ride the carts.’”

He continued, “[50 Cent] sets up a DJ booth on the green and has girls serving drinks. You’ll be riding around and it’s nice and quiet, then you start hitting the corner and it’s like, ‘You can find me in da club.’ On the green! I’m like, ‘Isn’t golf supposed to be quiet?’ But he’s just boomin’, playing this stuff so everybody kind of parks and gets their drinks and hangs out.”

Strickland actually got to spend some one-on-one time with 50 Cent, who the wrestler grew up being a huge fan of. “I’m talking to 50 Cent for like 30 minutes straight about life, we’re talking about our kids, sharing things about the game. I’m like, ‘Man, I used to play your CD front to back, your mixtapes and all that stuff.’ Now we’re talking as peers.”
